Lets get the dirt done first…My weight as of this morning is (drumroll) 175.4 pounds!! Â That is a 6.6 pound drop from last week! HOORAY!
I would love to tell you I credit this HUGE weight drop to eating right, drinking right, and working out.  But really all I did was get into a good workout routine.  For me it is really important to not jump in and change my diet, add in workout habits, and redo my entire lifestyle…I have tried that before and I drown almost as soon as I jump.  This year I am going with a whole new approach and slowly adding new trends to my lifestyle and I will do some ‘fad dieting’ to log my results and how I feel during these diets on here and share with you what works and doesn’t work. 😉
Clearly adding in regular workouts makes a HUGE difference.  I ate terribly…this weeks dinners included Mexican Night, Pizza, Shephards Pie, Perogies, wine, beer and coffee.  I worked out 5 days this week and my workouts included spinning, Zumba, Yoga, and Step Aerobics.  I got a Fitbit Force for Christmas this year and also did everything in my power to hit 10,000 steps per day.  That is no easy feat for the primarily sedentary person.  When I first got this fabulous pedometer I realized how truly freakin lazy I was when I barely managed 4,000 steps.  I have been kicking it up and finding ways to increase my steps by doing things that were unheard of before this pedometer found its place on my wrist.  I now make as many trips to the car while unloading groceries as I can manage, unload the dryer and load the washer by carrying the clothes rather than loading them into the laundry basket, everything gets picked up and taken to rooms one thing at a time.  All of this would have been seen as absurd and foreign to me and now I revel in the stepping and additional burned calories.  Kudos to the Fitbit!  It makes a fun game to challenge yourself to hit the celebratory 10,000 steps and have it vibrate and flash your success! 🙂
This week I am starting the Cabbage Soup Diet.  The site I use as my reference for it is http://www.cabbage-soup-diet.com/eating-plan/.  I encourage you to join me in this venture.  It is a great way to kickstart weight loss and the dreaded dieting.  It provides a cleansing and gets your mind and body craving healthy sweet alternatives, like fruit, and purges the salt craving from your system as well.  It is NOT meant to be a long term diet plan, and I will ONLY be doing it for this ONE week.
Next week, if you would like to join me on a 6 week adventure I will be following The Shred Revolutionary Diet, that advertises 6 weeks, 4 inches, 2 sizes.  We will see.  The book is by Ian K. Smith.  It includes weekly advice and how to’s AND my favorite a menu for every day the entire 6 weeks!  So I don’t have to magically create my own meals and don’t have the option to accidentally add in french fries and a burger – unless its on the meal plan! 🙂
If you have any suggestions for diets to try after that please share!  I love to hear your comments and if you join me on these diets DEFINITELY share your successes and frustrations! 🙂
