2014 New Year Clean Slate and Resolutions

Thank goodness for the new year!  It’s almost like you wake up on January 1st and you get a fresh clean slate to start the year.  All of last year’s failures, disappointments, and even the successes and achievements are behind you and you are starting all over again!  I love it and I really needed it!  I definitely sent 2013 out in style, I partied in a cute new leopard print dress with new friends that I hope to get to know much better in 2014, old friends that I miss and live far away, and enjoyed drinking the night away and welcoming the new day!  January 1, 2014 was ROUGH!  I vow to not have another day quite like that one again for the entire year…apparently getting older really does have a direct effect on your hangover recovery time! LOL!

New Year Clean Slate.  Yes I am starting over.  My first goal this year is to REALLY lose 42 pounds!  That is because I weigh as much as I did this time last year and I didn’t just have a baby 3 weeks ago.  I took all my measurements and compared them to last year and my inches are smaller but the weight is the same…I guess that is why my jeans still fit and my jeans from this time last year require a belt.  On January 2nd I joined the YMCA.  I decided this was the best choice for me because they offer childcare for up to 2 hours while you workout included in your membership!  I have a fabulous gym at home, but noone to watch my little angel while I’m in there, and I really just suck at working out at home.  I find too many distractions and other things to do and never make it in the gym with my fat ass.  Since joining the Y, I have worked out twice this week!  The day I joined I did a step aerobics class that kicked my butt and demonstrated how out of shape I really am and on Friday I did my first ever spin class!  I dragged my husband into this one with me.  It was a 45 minute class and about 3 minutes into it I felt regret and wished I could run out.  My legs were already feeling fatigued and the rest of my body was urging me to quit.  With my husband right next to me I had to power through it and tough it out.  The great news: spinning is ALOT like running!  You get going and within a couple minutes you wish you hadn’t got the idea in your head and your legs are screaming, you push through it and ten minutes into it you are having a surprisingly good time, feeling motivated to hit the finish line and the fatigue has turned into a really good calorie burn.  I will be spinning again soon!  🙂  My diet could use a little help.  I hate dieting, but want results.  I am definitely kicking alcohol to the curb for a while.  I have experimented and confirm that when I drink make very poor food decisions and therefore should not be drinking.  I have an empty bag of Doritos to prove it.  I really don’t need the additional calories anyway.  I am going to be cleansing via the Cabbage Soup Diet next week, so stay tuned for that fun time!

The rest of my resolutions include:

Posting on here at least weekly! 🙂  Hopefully twice a week though!

Growing my Origami Owl business!  Adding new clients and building a fabulous team!

Being a better friend!  I want to keep in touch with my out of state friends and make more time to hang with my close by friends.  Its tough to manage time with a new family but I really need to make time for me and my friends more of a priority.

That sums it up!  Here are my numbers to start the year.  I posted them at the end partially procrastinating posting them at all and hoping most of you don’t read this far down to see them!  I will post my weight updates weekly, but my measurements only monthly.

Height: 5’6″  Weight: 182 lb  Waist: 36″  Hip: 43″  Bust: 41″  Neck: 13″  Chest: 36″
